Naiya S.May 10, 2013
Most unprofessional experience I have had to date with someone who formed their own business and wrote their own legally binding contracts. Steve took my website on early in January 2013 and agreed to have the basic layout complete by March. By April I was beginning to rip my hair out because Steve not only completely neglected to follow through on his end of web work, but also had the nerve to not communicate with me about why he wasn't following through even though he had my $400 for the basic layout already paid to him. He never e-mailed or updated when he said he would, I had to follow up frequently to get him to make minor changes that he complained were 'unnecessarily complex' and he even had the nerve to patronize me, as if I didn't know how hard his job was.
By late April his story had changed from confidently talking himself up and not needing my money, to him not having the time for the job and then proceeding to give me the runaround on the 'full-refund' HE wrote into his contract. Thankfully, a talented web designer friend took over the site and added way more design/aesthetic creativity to it with in one full business week and doesn't seem to have the 'unnecessarily complex' issues that Steve was plagued with. He still has the site linked to his DragonStar page even though his version didn't look half as good. I just hope that he works better in a group setting at his new job, and that some sap doesn't get almost get screwed out of hundreds of dollars like my naive-self nearly did.- helpfull 0
