La Fiesta Mexican Bar and Grill

Good service. Great food. Cool old school style Mexican restaurant. I'd recommend this to anyone looking to get some good Mexican food.

Tried this place after reading the reviews and thought it would be a nice change of pace to the other Mexican food we have in Chico. Unfortunately we were very disappointed. Wife ordered Asada plate. Beef was bland and rice was extremely salty. I ordered tacos carbon with pastor. Pastor was really fatty and overcooked to the point that I could only taste the burnt pork. The tortillas also burnt and were so soaked in grease they wouldn't hold when you picked them up. Everything fell out onto the plate. I also thought the rice was too salty. The refried beans were really good as well as the chips and salsa. We waited for approximately 3-4 minutes to be acknowledged by someone so we could be seated, however, we were seated right away after staff saw us waiting. You can tell the restaurant is old but they did try to freshen up the place with pictures. I did like the carved wooden booths and columns but the padding on the seats were torn and there wasn't much cushion left in them. I gave them 1 star for their decent beans, chips, and salsa and another star for their service as they were attentive to us after we were seated. With the other options in town we probably won't be going back to this place.
