The Roost Cafe

Wish I could rate the food but we never got it.

Waited outside for ten minutes. Get seated, wait another ten minutes before our server sees us and gets us drinks and takes our order. We then waited for an hour, with no food (two omelettes and a Reuben). One of us approached the server after, and they simply said that a large table had backed up the kitchen.

Said large table had gotten their food about thirty minutes earlier. The server had never checked in on us before we approached them, other than to once refill a drink when they happened to be in the area.

We walked out and went somewhere else. Very disappointing and a huge waste of time. While I understand that the kitchen backup wasn't the fault of the server, we received no apology or explanation other than the 8 person table they served thirty minutes (!) before us backed the kitchen up. Really felt lousy.

TL;DR: didn't get food for an hour and walked out. Server never acknowledged it or explained the situation until approached directly.

My very good friend who owns this place made this meal. Eggs Benedict. So good I highly recommend this meal. Well worth the 1.5 hr drive....
