I recently purchased a home with carpeting in need of replacement. Towne Carpet stood out to me not only because of its close proximity to my home and good storefront exposure, but also because of its mostly favorable reviews.

Towne Carpet is located right off the 99 freeway on E. 20th St, across from Sierra Nevada Brewery. It has a large, new sign which is easy to spot from the road. The property management company I used to work for had used Towne for their rentals so I knew it was known to be a reputable source.

I was assisted by Cameron (or 'Dean' as he went by) and felt that he was both helpful and knowledgeable. Contrary to other local companies I had checked out, Dean took the time to explain the different grades of carpeting and flooring which helped immensely. When he offered to come out and measure same-day, I was thrilled and was able to move my work meetings around to accommodate it.

Dean called 15 minutes before the appointment, stating he was on his way and would be at my home shortly. 15 minutes went by, nothing. That turned into an hour, then two hours. At this point, the business had closed for the day so it was too late to call and inquire.

I'll admit that it was disappointing having to wait for a (local) vendor, just to be stiffed - especially given that he had placed a courtesy call mere minutes prior. Nobody likes their time wasted. While Dean seemed like a nice guy, this poor act of customer service will prevent me from patronizing them or recommending their company to you.
