The best diner in Chico. Always fast service. Definitely has the coziest atmosphere for a diner. All the breakfast food and beyond is delicious.

There is a very fluctuating love affair in the culinary world. One day you go to a restaurant/place and every bite is delicious, sorry if it sounds too extreme. Let's say a Carne Asada plate, Mexican style. The meat is superbly marinated, thin and delicate texture, no fat or unchewable parts that limit the parts a person can eat. Nice size, with rice, beans, guacamole, etc., hot steaming tortillas, tasty salsa that keeps getting refilled together with home made chips. Even expensive is worthy because quality sometimes justify the investment. The next visit is nothing like the first. Love turns to big disappointment. Happens way too often. From great to sucks big lemon . Cozy today kind of slipped. Food: Fish and Chips: more batter way less fish. 2 Stars. Veggies al dente very good amount, 4.2 Stars. French fries, golden brown 3.8 Stars. Mashed Potatoes 3.7 Stars. Clam Chowder: easy on the flour fella! Thick, grumpy, flavor suitable, clams not an easy find, 3.1 Stars. Water clean tasting 4.1 Stars. Coffee with caffeine, creamer, etc., 4 Stars. Side salad with blue cheese, a disgrace and absolute bad investment. Dressing zero taste, and why ask for dressing if it's going to be so mediocre? I'll answer: comes prepackaged, big buckets, no love here, and salads been known to make or break a meal. Could have returned it, didn't. 1.2 Stars. Service very nice by a highly presentable female server, come to think of it, all servers are females. Cozy does have that going, from management to the staff, very nice people, 4.4 Stars. Corn bread, English muffin, 3.8 Stars. Decaf was enthusiastically praised by one of my two lovely companions, 4 Stars.
Cozy Diner took a dive. Not an irreversible one, mind you, but a sad drop in quality. Total $50 not including gratuity. Iffy subject gratuity, for if the food is so so generosity also so so? The pressures of dining out. 3 Stars.
