Dr. Egert had me go to physical therapy prior to injections. I called two or three times to tell Dr. Egert that the PT was not working. They told me to finish. It took me about three months to finish the PT because I was injured there on The spinal decompression machine. Dr. Egert's office had me scheduled for an appointment I guess where they though I should be finished with PT. I could even start PT for a few weeks so between that and the injury it took longer to complete. During these calls the office staffg (one person in particular) were rude. A woman from his office basically called me a liar when I said I had been doing PT for five years. I told her it was unsupervised PT I had learned from Pillsbury PT five years before. She was constantly trying to prove herself right. I missed the appointment because PT went weeks over the original schedule. In retrospect I should have called and canceled but I was told that I couldn't come in until I finished. So I had assumed the canceled the appointment. So they said I could never come in again because they have a policy that if someone misses an appointment they can never return. Weird. Please be careful of this place. I believe the doctor needs to find out about the behavior of his staff and facilitate appropriate changes.

I went in to see Dr.Egert after being referred to him via my doctor and after my pt recommended I see a pain specialist for epidural injections. After Dr.Egert did a quick exam and asked a series of questions he said,"I'm not sure why you're here. If your pain level is only a 3-4, why are you here?" I was stunned. Btw my pain level is a 3-4 while on meds and doing no physical activity only. He also explained to me if I got back into a good physical shape, lose some weight, strengthen my core, I could go back to doing the same work that propelled me into the extreme pain I'd gotten to prior to getting treatment(this is contrary to what my dr. And pt have told me). He said at my age, (I'm 44) I shouldn't be experiencing symptoms that are too bad that I can't get back to normal. I have degenerative disks and a slight bulge in my S1-L5 that toppled with extensive hard physical labor I had been doing in my previous position I was in tremendous and extreme pain constantly. Now, after pt and changing to a less strenuous position in my job, my quality of life has improved greatly but I'm still suffering with pain constantly, although with pain meds keeps it down and that's helped. I just wanted to try something so I could be medication free. He said," it sounds like you've found what works for you. Again, I'm not sure why you're here."
He made me feel invalid. His bedside manner was cold and insensitive. Not at all what I'd need in a doctor. Would I recommend him to anyone. No.
Staff was great. Very nice and helpful. I'll give him that-he hires great help.- helpfull 0
