Knockout Collision Repair

I got my $100,000 truck back with more body damage than it went in with. I would never trust this shop again. My truck was rear ended, no reason my hood should be scratched like this. Thanks Knockout, you guys do a terrible job of caring for peoples second largest asset.

Knockout grossly misrepresented their estimate procedures. My advice would be not to sign any paperwork with this company to receive a repair estimate, which they insisted upon. I was told that I could not receive an estimate for insurance purposes without signing an agreement. Further, I was told it would cost me $175 to complete the estimate and this would be returned if the work is carried out by Knockout. What they don't make clear is that by signing you have given them permission to tear your vehicle down, despite the fact I was verbally very clear that this was an estimate for getting two windows replaced and a cosmetic repair for two scratches. Essentially, the tear down involved removing multiple panels from my vehicle, which is not always covered by insurance nor was it discussed when I dropped off my vehicle. When I asked to pick my vehicle up and not carry out the work, they had already done the tear down and had incurred labor costs. On top of that I was told I would have to tow the vehicle at my own expense as it was in pieces and inoperable, and I would be charged a daily storage fee of $150/day. While I was clear that the only repairs I was interested in was the replacement of two windows and a cosmetic scratch, Knockout proceeded with a tear down leading to an "estimate" of $7,000 worth of work. When this was submitted to our insurance company they, quite rightly, denied the claim as it far exceeded what the repair should have cost. Insurance had estimated under $1,000 for the replacement of two windows. After much back and forth between myself, Knockout, and my insurer, my bill came to $1,900.
Ultimately, I am deeply disappointed in Knockout. They misrepresented their procedures and were evasive with my insurance company and myself.
