Dealings with Red Room:
You know - I've dealt with many shops over the past decade and half and Red Room always shits a sweet spot of quality and annoyance. The artwork, both piercing and ink wise, is great. The jewelry they order is of the highest quality. Overall, worth the patience - if you have it (trust me when I say it will be tested).
I've been coming here for 9+ years and every time the phone calls are that of an alcoholic aunt/uncle berating you for wanting clarification or updates on something you are trying to pay them for. Yes, it is top quality art by good artists and top quality jewelry - however, the attitude the employees give you is one that portrays a kid who has been brought up privileged. It's almost as if they know they're too good for your inquisitions about the money you are willing to spend for their services.

Do not go here if you expect to be heard and treated with dignity. Go here if you want quality jewelry for the price of being treated like you're a fucking idiot.

Week 4 - jewelry still not in when they said it would be 1-2 weeks

So I last left a review 3 years ago after having some piercings done... I was not super worried about them overcharging, but apparently it happens a lot unfortunately.
Well this is an update to my most recent experience; I went in specifically looking for a female artist and informed them that I was not on social media, which unfortunately makes it almost impossible to see current work from their artists...
I got a large floral piece on my side... Gabbi started it, she said she could finish it in 3 sittings and that she didn't want to charge me shop rate because of the size. After the first sitting she informed me that she would be charging me shop rate which was $120/hour and I sat for 4 hours for the outline. The frustrating part was that I asked to see what's she had come up with before I got there, but she said she would show me when I got there. I got there at 11:30 AM for my 4 hour appointment, DIDNT LIKE WHAT SHE CAME UP WITH, because it was not at all what I said I wanted, so I had to sit there until almost 2 PM for her to change it (one her tablet app that does most of the art work for them). The outline took until 7 PM. Each sitting was a different experience, but I was happy with the work... before we could finish the piece the artist had some drama happening and decided to move to Arizona. (I found this out after my second siting) I got the shop owner to put me on his books to finish my piece (4th sitting!) because there was so many random spots that needed to be finished... when I got there he talked to two people who had walked in and I waited over an hour for my appointment to start. He barely talked to me or asked what I wanted, so I told him what I was expecting (even sent inspiration photos to him the night before) he did not listen to me at all. You can tell that it's two different artists! The colors are not at all what I asked for and the layout on my body is not how I explained I wanted. This is permanent! And a huge piece! I spent almost $2K and nearly 20 hours just to be unhappy with the finished product. The atmosphere is like a bunch of men in their 40's/50's and a couple teenagers working the counter that act like they are hanging out at skate park, but are too preppy to actually skate... they just dress the part.


It's unfortunate to see what the shop is turning into. Needless to say, I'll be finding a new shop for any ink or piercing needs.
