Sando, drink, 2 mini sides was 20 bucks....a bit of a surprise.

I had the poor boy that had lots of meat.

Definitely walked away full.

The lobster Mac was meh.

Potato salad wasn't special.

Lots of salad and chip and drink options.

Will definitely go again.

I've been on a bit of a deli sandwich quest. My recent reviews will attest that I've not been able to find a place with both great bread and adequate filling. It's been one or the other or none. I thought a true delicatessen would fit the bill, so I checked out Spiteri's last Thursday for lunch. The line at 12:30pm is a testament to this place's popularity, and both the inside seating and huge outdoor patio were full. When we made it to the counter, we were helped by the nicest gal. I like that one person takes your order and makes your food, keeping things seamless for your entire interaction. The good?? This place loads up on the meat! It was generously portioned, and really tasty. The just ok?? The sandwich was leaking lol I'm not sure how else to describe it... and I'm not sure what the culprit was -- pepperoncini juice, mayo/mustard, pickles? Either way, it was a really messy situation... messier than any sammy in recent memory. The bad?? The bread. My sourdough roll was too tall to take a bite out of, and it was incredibly dry. I think you can even see how dry it is in the pic! Spiteri's is a beloved local institution, but I probably won't be back. My perfect deli sandwich is out there, somewhere. The food is really 3 stars at best, but I'm giving it 4 for the really nice service.
