If I could give no stars, I would. I work with a homeless agency in Marysville, I reached out to the Transitional Housing Department for assistance with a young individual who has been displaced in our community. Upon investigation, it was brought to attention that the Youth and Family Programs had this individual as a client. When reaching out to the agency, I spoke with Hannah, who informed me this individual on their case load was dropped from the program after voicing concerns and need for help, and also not being able to get ahold of him all day, in which she was informed for a second time that he was in the ER with no phone to access the agency. This individual's interaction was quoted to be "mean," while never ideal, the individual was upset, due to a vulnerable state and fragile mental status. I was then further informed that next steps would be for the individual to reapply, "there's a long list so it can be a while," his discharge from the program is unethical. Hannah then passed the phone to Cassandra, who informed me that she would not discuss the client as she had previously provided information to a different agency in the area and I would need to contact that agency to receive requested information to better understand next steps with the client. I asked to speak with the Director or Supervisor, Cassandra was combative and refused to give me the information. I was asked for my name and number which I provided and was then hung up on. The client expressed a lack of empathy and support from the program.

Not a supportive program. More like make you homeless program. I came here to get help. I am an white/asian individual who maily looks asian and this woman had the audacity as a white woman to tell me she relates to me by telling me a story of how she married into a family and was the "only white person". She said this as it made her uncomfortable to be around anyone that wasn't white. This staff member was insensitive and not understanding. To be honest you cannot relate to the covid 19 racial discrimination if you arent asian. Flat out! I experience people pulling up their masks and rolling up their car windows. I believe I face barriers with employment due this covid issue. Im aware that there are issues with other races as well. I see black people and hispanic people struggling here too. They are people too! I support equality and hope that people would change for the better! Thats the hope but not always the reality. Butte county by far is the most racist county I have ever lived in! They gave me one night in a hotel to make the money for more nights.I believe that this scenario that has occurred is way of saying indirectly. " Get the fuck out of our town". People need to stop trying to cover up the truth. Im so done with the 23 years of my life of racial discrimination. The people of chico have attempted to run me over with their cars numerous times and clearly shown me Im not welcome in their town. This is not right! Im currently selling my belongings for money. I was in another homeless housing program called 6th street housing. My experience started with two of the other two roomates trying to get into my room with knives and kill me. One of them creepily said my name in front of my door to try and intimidate me. Both of them stood in front of my door late at night and i said "Go away!" I had to say it a few times for them to finally leave me alone. I reported this to the case manager and they moved me to another house. The problems didnt stop because one that was there at the time was trying to provoke me by for example stealing my toliet paper. Out of the blue he decided to just leave it on the floor outside the bathroom door. Honestly in that type of housing i'm not sure why someone thinks they could just have the whole place to themselves.
