We started as a single Kindergarten class in 2001. We became an independent non-profit charter school in 2002. We have moved three times in eight years. We are prepared to move once again in Fall 2009, please call us for the location! Our school is provided oversight by the Butte County Office of Education and NOT associated with Chico Unified School District.

To many bullies and not enough structure. It's like wild animals with no moral code. That includes staff and students. Why are staff so rude and the office personnel. I don't know! Very clicky. Some dangerous students, basically a continuation school. The food is not good. Some yelp reviews are from employees! My child did not feel safe at this school. Staff was unhelpful and just rude.

I have two kids enrolled at Blue Oak, now in 3rd and 5th grade. We really appreciate the Waldorf inspired curriculum and the long term caring staff. Students loop with their teacher through multiple years, and this has really been beneficial to both my kids. Like any charter school Blue Oak has it challenges, but that's something facing all public schools with cuts to funding and programs.
