Mc manus elementary is an amazing school where my daughter Natalie has been from 1st grade to now 4th grade in 2016 .. Every one of her teachers has been amazing and caring and has their own unique style of teaching. The population is diverse and everyone brings something different to the table.. It's not cookie cutter and that's why I like it. I want my daughter to experience diversity the way it is in the real world. Bottom line .. The teachers care about their students here. My daughter has excelled and is at a 8th grade reading level already and comes home every day happy and excited about her day at school. The environment is warm and friendly when you enter the office and campus .. I can feel good about my daughter spending time learning and growing when she is not at home with me.

I had my daughter in TK class at McManus with Mr.Brian Kehoe. Brian has a fun, playful, Big personality that spoke to not only the students but parents as well. He was always trying to find ways to make learning fun and not feel like pressure. He introduced the kiddos to concepts they would not learn until kindergarten and many kids are beginning to read, form sentences and do math. My daughter reads the book Dick and Jane and many others and she's not even a kinder yet!!!!!He makes the kids excited to come to school! When they were learning the letter "F" he wore a necklace that had an F hanging on it. He came to school in patriotic pants, dressed as zero the hero to celebrate the completion of the first 100 days of school. He would surprise the kids by greeting them in the morning wearing fake teeth or passing out red noses for them to wear for Red Nose Day. He also had an old bus that he brought to school that the kids got to sit on and eat their lunch. He allowed parents to hang out to observe his class. He has great relationships with all the family members and was always very friendly and personable with them.He never lacked energy and found teachable moments in all things. Some kids needed more redirection or to work on socio-emotional skills. Brian got to know each kid very well and helped them reach their full potential. He was great at getting the kids to communicate how they feel to one another. I know this because I was privileged to spend a lot of time in his class observing and helping out when I could.I will truly miss this teacher! He set the bar real high at the beginning of my daughters school career. He's gonna be tough to measure up to. It also seems like he has a good reputation because people would always visit his classroom because they heard wonderful things about him. If your child ends up in his class consider yourself very lucky.
