Chico Art School & Gallery

My niece loved this art school. She's pretty good art art, and she came out of this class with some cool/pretty art that she learned to do. The art that they do in class feels kind of professional, but for kids. In one session she learned how to shade her animals and make them more lifelike, and they did. In another class they created very vibrant mask. The prices are the same compared to other art classes, but your kids will do a lot and learn a ton.

Teacher Janet Blixt is not only incredibly talented as an artist but also gifted as a teacher. Her soft demeanor and loving encouragement brings out the best in my three daughters as they express themselves in drawing and painting.
My girls always remember their first class with her where she read them a book called "Ish". It was a special book about how things don't have to look perfect to be perfectly made they just need to look "flower-ish" or "house-ish". It was a great way to allow the children to understand that their art could be uniquely theirs.
