Driven by the owners' personal desire for contemporary sushi, the Rawbar was opened over 20 years ago in Chico and has developed into a thriving restaurant. The Rawbar provides an exciting way to experience sushi and fusion Asian Cuisine in an unconventional environment. The Restaurant's modern industrial design consists of local artists' glass and steel works, which provide a unique and inviting atmosphere for both veteran and beginning sushi lovers.

Post renovation it's still a pretty solid 4 but it's got work to get to 5.
Spoiler alert, the renovation added a bar area, another bathroom, some more seating - good stuff because it was often busy.
Same great staff
Space is still super nice, outdoor seating is great
Menu hasn't changed materially
Everything we had was good
Always something special for the sushi lover
Kids menu is still the best
How does it get to a 5?
Good variety of rolls but they are all very similar
No rolls for people just getting started - they have to go to the rest of the menu
2 kids, adult, beer and some sake - $144 and not feeling "stuffed" was a bit of a bummer, but also not unique to stobke

Dined in at Rawbar's Lounge on a Friday for Happy Hour and did not have a wait. The restaurant is very clean and the atmosphere was lively. Waitstaff were very attentive and friendly! The HH "Eats" we chose were just OK though.
