Seishindo is based upon the Shorin-Ryu style of Karate developed in Okinawa, Japan. Other Seishindo influences include Judo, Jujitsu, Aikido, Kubudo and Western martial arts such as Boxing and Wrestling. Training includes forms (kata) sparring (kumite), and self-defense techniques, but has an even deeper focus. Seishindo helps us learn to
History
Founded by Sensei Taka Noburyu as a positive place where both children and adults could come to learn not only about karate but, self defense, dicipline, and most importantly self respect.
The dojo is currently being run by Sensei Shane Dubin while Sensei Taka takes care of business at our sister dojo in Japan. By summer 2012 two new Seishindo dojos are being started up in Japan giving Seishindo four dojos world wide.

My wife and I brought our son to Chico Seshindo to learn self-defense and confidence and we have certainly noticed the difference. Sensei Shane is patient and personable. During one of the tests (2 minute squat) we learned something about the level of determination that our son has. He was shaking and beet-red from holding that squat, but he wouldn't give up. We would not have known this if it weren't for Chico Seishindo. Good parent memories right there!
