The Stansbury Home is a Victorian home built by Dr. Oscar Stansbury in 1883. The home was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974 and in 1991 was listed as supporting the South Campus Historic District. While the home is now the property of the City of Chico, the Stansbury Home Preservation Association helps to fund and maintain the 19th century historic residence.

Who runs this place? been there 5 or 6 times and its always closed and no mention of times open? When I call to see, no recording of the open hours, no communications to the public at all. Had friends from out of town come, on a weekend and its not open.?
How about if it is still open, have a voice recording of the times it will be open, that is not hard?
Have a sign in front when open because what is there is useless. Very Frustrating. To have such an interesting place and its not managed at all.?
That's my Spin. Can't get in? or plan to visit, so its a useless place to try and visit.

This is a must see if your into historic homes.This house is in its original state that gives you a glimpse into Victorian life in Chico. The docent was really informative and took his time showing us the home. Hope to visit during the two big event they hold each year in the future.
