Coast Physical Therapy & Sports Medicine

I wouldn't recommend coast physical therapy to anybody with an injury. I came here due to an automotive injury, Cindy handled my intake calls. Firstly, before my first evaluation I made sure to ask if the same doctor, Kevin, would be handling all of my treatments. Cindy confirmed this, but I ended up walking out of my last therapy session without getting treatment because it was not true. I was scheduled with PTA Addison during Kevin's lunch break for all of my upcoming sessions this month. Apparently coast therapy has a reputation with all patients that you only see the doctor on the initial evaluations, and PTAs handle the majority of the treatments. I don't know why I was told differently by Cindy.

After speaking with Addison and Cindy about Kevin not being present for my treatments, I asked Cindy to have Kevin give me a call to discuss my ongoing treatment. This was all 3 days ago, and Kevin has not called me back. I wouldn't be surprised if I got a response from him here, for everyone to see, even though he never called me back.

Originally I came to coast therapy after I had a bad experience with a physical therapist pushing me too hard in my treatment of the same auto injury. Kevin's response in my treatment was to only give me breathing exercises, and to recommend me to do my strength training at a Pilates studio he was familiar with. Basically Kevin wasn't having me doing any real exercises at home, which is a risk for my health and recovery. And then he wanted a non-medical professional to handle my strength training instead of doing this himself, despite my serious injury/ongoing healing.

Additionally, the equipment used for treatment are old and worn. Also, the facilities are always overbooked and overcrowded. Expect to be waiting between exercises and staying longer than anticipated for your treatments.

I've had Physical Therapy in the past at other places and hadn’t noticed much improvement, All the therapists and people at Coast were super helpful and nice and I actually saw tons of improvement on my shoulder! I would definitely go back to Coast if I ever need PT again!
