HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! I have NEVER yelled at someone in customer service before this!!! I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HERTZ TO MY WORST ENEMY
I yelled back "what the f*ck do you want me to do? I have been here for 1.5hours, you turned me away for a license you do accept, corporate is happy to explain, I need this car! What do you want from me?!"
Full story:
I needed a weekend rental for a trip, I also just replaced my license, so I have a paper license from the dmv with all the information just no picture. Because of possible issues with the license I got there 30mins before my appointment (1.5 hours before close). The woman behind the desk told me that it was not a real license and they would not accept it. I explained it was a government issued temporary license, and that it has all the necessary information, she refused to accept it, I called multiple people asking for help, tried to figure something out with the woman behind the desk but in the end I CALLED CORPORATE. I was on hold with them for a long time (yes I began to cry out of frustration). When I finally reached an operator she told me that it was a valid license accepted by all hertz locations. I was thrilled and angry, I asked if she could stay on the phone to explain it... when I went to go back inside the doors were locked. I had been on hold for so long they closed!! I saw the woman leaving so I ran over and explained "I have been here 1.5 hours, corporate says you accept my license and I have them on the phone right now, I understand you are closed, but you turned me away and I need this car. Can we please try again?" She spoke in an angry tone and told me "we won't accept your license and we are closed, so you need to leave" I asked her what I was supposed to do, and we went back and forth in angry tones until she yelled "We are closed and I'm not helping you! Leave!" I yelled back "what the f*ck do you want me to do? I have been here for 1.5hours, you turned me away for a license you do accept, corporate is happy to explain, I need this car! What do you want from me?!" At that I squeezed my phone and accidentally hung up. I walked away and cried. WOULD NOT RECOMMEND HERTZ TO MY WORST ENEMY- helpfull 0

Beware customers. Hertz Rent a Car Airpark Chico will rob you blind. I needed a car rental for 30 days. The female helping me behind the counter asked me if I wanted the "optional insurance coverage" which covered any damage to the vehicle. When I asked her how much her reply was simply $25. I voiced out loud how cheap that was but she did not at that time make it clear that it was $25 a day, which would have been the professional thing to do. Needless to say I was duped and bought the insurance and upon return on the vehicle I was informed I owed them $750. The employee assured me she had mentioned it was $25 a day However, if she had mentioned it I would have given it a second thought, (as most people would) and I know I would have not bought the insurance as it was optional. I feel this is clearly predatory, money hungry, deceitful business practice and the public needs to be made aware. Be smarter than I was, stay clear of Hertz, Rent A Car Airpark. They are not professionals.
