Leighty Property Management

The owners are the Leighty family...They started raising the rent over $100 a month during Covid. They continue to do this and are rude and disrespectful to all tenants ‼ Seniors live here and are not able to buy food now and cant pay utilities either. Parking area is in bad condition and place hasn't been paint in over 20 years. They don't know the rental laws and do as they please. They are verbally abusive on the verge of elder abuse. No compassion and they are treating the onsite managers so poorly as well....NOT recommended as a peaceful place to live....they are all about money

Do not rent from Leighty Property Management, Inc. at their 1866 Eaton Road property. After living there for 2 years and paying our rent in full and on time they gave us a 60 day notice on Nov. 2nd to be out by Jan 2, 2013. We don't know who would want to move during that time of the year, during Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's . The Managers live on site and do not want to fix things when asked. The fence was rotted and almost fell over, there was mold in the bathroom, many electrical outlets did not work and the duplex was so old it needed to be renovated. This duplex we lived in had one bathroom and the toilet was old and had no seal and the managers would not get the owner's to fix it. When the refrigerator at our duplex died the owner's would not pay for the food that was inedible because they said we had an extra refrigerator in the garage. The owner's waited until the last possible day to get our security deposit back to us and after paying $900.00 sec. deposit and a $400.00 pet deposit, we only got $654.76 back. They charged us for not cleaning the refrigerator and range top which we cleaned and we even bought new stove top drip pans. DO NOT RENT at this property on 1866 Eaton unless you can handle unimagineable stress. They were the worst manager's and owner's we have ever had the misfortune to rent from. Also, they only rent month to month and won't offer lease option to renter's.
