I would not recommend renting from RSC at all to anybody, even my worst enemy. I rented an apartment for almost 3 years and for the last 11 months I lived there I had to deal with a leaking roof and a hole cut into my ceiling that would leak every time it rained unless there was a tarp placed on the roof. The tarp would frequently be moved due to wind/weather and I was told multiple times that nobody could go fix the tarp and to just "put a bucket down." I dealt with numerous maintenance workers showing up unannounced and expecting to be let in without even the decency to introduce themselves. It wasn't until I called the RSC office to speak to somebody that I learned the name of the regular maintenance worker that had been to my apartment MULTIPLE TIMES because he never once had introduced himself to me. I left work several times to deal with the leaking roof, made sure to clean up the water so as to not damage the floor, and make sure there was a bucket and towels down when leaving. I was told for months "they will fix the roof once the weather is better and then we can fix the hole in the ceiling." Winter turned to spring. Spring turned to summer. And it wasn't until I was working on moving out with Allison, the on site manager, that I was told it should be fixed in a couple weeks. Funny how they schedule it to finally be fixed as soon as I'm moving out. Almost an entire year I dealt with a leaking roof and the first and only time I called the RSC office I had the absolute displeasure of talking with Kim. Never have I ever felt more disrespected and belittled by someone when expressing my feelings on how frustrating this experience had been. All I was offered for ELEVEN MONTHS of inconvenience and stress about my ceiling leaking was 5 days rent credit for one month (about $180) and a $50 reimbursement for PGE when I had a dehumidifier in my apartment for 3 days. I repeatedly asked how RSC planned to make this right and was told they would ask again and try to work something out. RSC has been the worst rental experience I've ever had. Kim needs to either be fired or go through extensive training on how to treat others with kindness and compassion. If you move into the Cedar Springs apartments on Burnap and you are unit 1098, I'd ask to see proof the roof has been fixed completely and not just a tarp or band aid fix otherwise you'll have a miserable winter.

Went on the RCS website, such wonderful rentals were listed. Clicked on just about every one of these (try it for yourself) no prices were listed most said either unavailable or rented. Then found after a prolonged search a few ( 2 ) available. Called and was told I first needed to fill out an application before my questions could be answered. Paid the application fee and applied. The next day received a phone call and was told that the 2 places I was interested in were unfortunately already rented, they would however have three rentals available on the first on of Jan., which I would be within my price range to which they had approved me for. Asked if I could at least drive by and see the area. They were very accommodating, under the condition I did not disturb the current occupants or wonder onto the property. This made perfect sense so I was able to obtain the address and park across the street and walked on the sidewalk, which everything seemed in place until I started talking to a woman who was walking her dog. Said hello petted her dog a little tiny thing, asked her how she liked the area, she said she loves it explained to me how the area is perfect! Ask her where she lives and pointed up at an apartment upstairs, where the down stairs unit appeared to be vacant. She apparently lives in the unit I was told that would be vacant!? Did not tell her who I was or what I was doing. Asked her if she was moving? No was the statement. Called the company back and was told they were sending a notice out the unit was needing to be refurbished and she would be given notice. Was reprimanded by the company for talking to anyone and now would not be eligible for a rental. Needless to say I went back and left her a note she was going to have to move explained in detail what was told to me.
