Guy Rents

I'd like to revise my first review. They came through with flying colors, acknowledged the problem and gave me a generous $$ credit to use against future rentals.

I called them and asked if they had a specific item. I was assured that they had it, and it was in stock. I asked the man who answered the phone if I needed to leave my name as my husband was on his way in and wanted to be sure the item I needed was not rented prior to me getting there. His response? "Uh, naw, you don't need to do that." He said in an incredibly bored voice, then click. Yes, he hung up on me.

When my husband got there (30 minutes later) the man behind the counter stated they in fact did NOT have the item I'd just asked about. He said in fact they didn't carry it. WHAT? They had assured me they had the item (a fold up engine hoist).

The young man behind the counter offered to call All Star Rents for my husband. He called and when he returned he told my husband that All Star Rents did not have the item either.

My husband called me furious, since he'd driven down to Guy Rents for nothing. He told me what happened and asked me to call All Star Rents, since he didn't believe the guy he'd dealt with. Sure enough I called and they had it in stock.

I talked to Nancy at All Star Rents and she was great. So as I type this my husband is on his way to patronize another business.

All I can take from my interactions with Guy Rents is they lie to you. They lie to you on the phone and hang up on you. They also lie to you in person.
