Nord Avenue Mini Storage

I downloaded yelp specifically to make this review. I've always had a pleasant experience at this facility and the employees have always been respectful.Today I went to retrieve my belongings from this location after sharing a rental with two other people over the summer. An older woman came to the window as I approached. I showed her the rental agreement and explained that I had shared this rental with two other people. I also showed her the key that I had to the unit. She told me she couldn't let me in because I wasn't on the agreement, even though I had a rental agreement on my person. I messaged the renter I shared the unit with and she said she called the location to let them know I was ok to go in to the unit. I went back to the location and told the same woman that the renter gave permission for me enter the unit. She said she STILL couldn't let me in because she couldn't give me the gate code to get into the facility. She asked if I had the gate code and I said no. What confused me even more was that she said I could wait for someone to drive through the gate and follow them in and that was the only way I could get in. We waited until someone exited from the gate and went in. When we were unloading everything from the unit the same woman ride up on a golf cart and told us they closed at 5 pm and she couldn't let us out after 5 pm if we were still inside the facility so we would have to wait until someone else exited from the gate. After putting all my things in my car we drove up to the gate and had to ask the woman nicely to let us out, even though it was only 4:30 pm. Overall this experience was incredibly frustrating. I really just wanted my belongings back and it proved to be the biggest headache. I didn't appreciate being treated like a criminal who was going to rob the place. I will never use this location again and will take my business elsewhere.

I was a campfire survivor. We lost everything. We didn't have a home, but family and friends donated some nice things to us. We didn't have a very permanent place to live at the time, so I got a storage unit to keep these items safe for a little while. I of course kept up on the bill, and this post has nothing to do with money or not paying my bill. Fast forward, we finally got a rental home to live in and went to clean out the storage. We opened it up only to find this place is literally infested with rats and mice!! We're talking hundreds of them!!! Everything in the unit was ruined. There were dead ones in our unit, live ones running around right in front of us, poop everywhere. Nothing in our unit was salvageable. We talked to the owners, no refund or anything offered. When we told them everything was ruined and it was all garbage now, they made us get in there and take everything out ourselves.. When taking our things to the dumpster 2 mice claimed out of our bags of clothes and started running around the bed of our pick up!!! This is terrible. The fact that we lost all these items because this place has a mice problem is very unfortunate. Do not rent a unit here!!!!
