Residence Inn by Marriott Chico

Made a reservation for work, email did not give any cancellation policy. Cancelled within 24 hours, and was charged anyway. Called and asked what policy was and was told it is 48 hours. It is no where listed on the reservation confirmation email. i explained that i was had to change because my co-worker got covid, so we needed to reschedule. Was told that agent would check with manager and get back to me, that did not happen. Will not be staying there again, and it's unfortunate as my work prefers Marriots.

Great Staff, great room layout/amenities for a family or longer stay, generally very clean. But, Room 104 smelled as much like cigarettes as any room I have ever stayed at. Hotel was fully booked, so no changes were possible. That room needs a thorough cleaning including carpets and drapes and probably the AC unit.
I kept hoping it wasn't that bad, and that opening windows etc. would mitigate the smell, but each return to the room was rough. If I could be sure this is remedied, I would happily stay there again. If I don't know it's fixed, I won't return.
