Sterling Oaks Apartments

When moving in, our wood floors had glue oozing up, there were flooring boards that were not butted together. A dead lizard in our washing machine did not impress my wife, putting it mildly. Our dryad never worked right from tje start. It took a year to get a new one. The washing machine has a moldy smell and does not cycle. They've sent out a repairman twice at a cost more than the machine is worth. Even the repairman can't believe it. He still can't find the problem in the circuitry. Hot tub too hot or too cold often. We had two Christmas packages stolen off of our porch. 1 mountain bike and a pair of hunting boots. Also mail theft here happens at least once a year car break ins happen, but that's Chico. . Breakfasts on Wed's are nice. The apartment maintenance person is very available and attentive. The grounds and pool are great. The clubhouse/ gym are very nice as well. You will not get your deposit back, so don't bust your butt cleaning too much. Take your chances.

BE PREPARED TO LOSE YOUR DEPOSIT!

Let me start off by saying why I rated this complex so poorly. Since I started renting, I kept up with cleaning. We had a strict no-shoe policy. I lived there for almost 2 years. It is impossible for an apartment not to have normal wear and tear. We lived in San Luis Obispo, California before and were given back half of our deposit. And our apartment was not in the best of conditions. Sterling oaks, on the other hand, charged over 400 dollars in medium cleaning charges. At first, we thought this was a joke; Since we left the apartment in good shape. We tried contacting the management service, but they spun some story on how everything is justified.

It's a nice place to live at, but there's other nice places. It's not worth losing all your deposit.
