Westpark Gardens

I will soon be 55 and, but for six years of home ownership, have rented my entire life. Westpark Gardens -- presided over by the extremely competent Mary Riggins -- is my dream apartment complex. After two years, I had to leave only because family matters now require me out of state. I was actually despondent at having to leave this oasis.

* Mary is professional yet friendly, personal and caring. In fact, my girlfriend's nickname for Mary is The Great Mother.

* Hignell is the management company every renter hopes for. Highly responsive to maintenance requests and impeccable. If I could ever arrange life to once again live in Chico, this company would be my first stop and, specifically, Westpark Gardens.

* The apartments themselves are super-clean and extremely well insulated (at least that's been my experience on the bottom floor). In fact, the final winter I was there I did not even light the furnace pilot light, instead "spot heating" as needed with a small plug-in heater cube available for next-to-nothing from Walmart. This brought my PG&E bills to $25. No, really.

* Walkable and bikable to anywhere in Chico, but away from the campus scene.

* Tranquil. Westpark Gardens is truly peaceful.

Westpark gardens is my dream apartment. Classy, casual,quite. The maintenance is amazing, Mary is quick to respond. I have enjoyed my expirence at this apartment complex. I highly recommend.
