Village At The Timbers

I lived here 2 years. I would absolutely continue living here if I wasn't moving.

Pros:
* 10 minute bike ride to CSU, Chico
* Easy walk to downtown Chico or Bidwell
* Beautiful landscaping. Always lush, colorful, and maintained
* Quick fixes from maintenance
* No car/apartment break-ins during my stay. No packages stolen. I felt safe in the gated community, especially with nightly security
* Close to Safeway grocery (easy walk)
* Small workout room (treadmill, weights)
* Monthly raffles and daily coffee
* Automated monthly rent
* 15 minute drive to the University Farm
* Pool, BBQ, and workout room

Cons:
* Laundry unit is $2.50 wash, $2.00 dry. Sometimes machines don't work after paying
* If you're sensitive to neighbors, understand that they may blast loud music and the smell of weed could infiltrate your apartment occasionally
* Random families sometimes use and trash the pool
* $50 late payment penalty with no exceptions. Understandable, but a tough lesson

This is an amazing place to live, especially if you're a student.

I lived here for all 3 years of college after moving out of the dorms and I absolutely loved it. Being in a gated community was fantastic overall, and the benefits were great, and I just had a really awesome experience. Maintenance was very timely with requests (despite having multiple problems with my closet and washer), and always did their best to help. Leasing office ppl (Mahri and Jodi especially!!) were always so kind and helpful and were consistently welcoming. The apartment hosts a bunch of giveaways and free food events too! Dog park, grill and pool were clean and awesome to use. I'll be honest of course; biggest downsides at least from my personal experience were that the air conditioner stops blowing cold air once it hits over 100 degrees, and we didn't have any ceiling lights in the bedroom and living room so we had to rely on natural light, but overall a mostly positive experience!! Never once thought about moving. Walls are thick, security is great, apartment was in excellent condition when we moved in and never had any serious problems. Will miss this place!! Definitely recommend if you want somewhere near campus! Mostly college kids here with a few older couples and families.
