Timbers-IV - Birchwood

Birchwood is the worst apartments you can lease in Chico, like the other reviews have said Caitlin is awful at her job. Along with that this last year the apartments had a terrible infestation of cockroaches. It was absolutely disgusting and they did not do anything about it. At the end of your lease they pretty much charge you for everything so don't plan on getting that deposit back. The list honestly goes on and on but the other poor reviews are telling the truth. DO NOT LEASE IN BIRCHWOOD, OR IN TIMBERS FOR THAT MATTER.

Terrible terrible terrible company. Please do not sign any contracts with the Timbers. They lack security, avoid responsibility, overcharge, and don't give proper notice when making changes. We had our rent raised without proper notification, then were charged a fee for coming up short on the month's rent. When i went in to pay the fee, they complained that they were swamped by everyone coming in to pay their fees. They accepted everyone's money without thinking maybe they didn't make the change clear enough.
My car was broken into twice in the parking lot, and my Girlfriend's once. (two broken windows) My Girlfriend and my roommate each had their cars stolen from the same lot. Security is a joke. A "security guard" comes around maybe once a night, but their only job is to check if they need to tow cars from the parking lot, because i'm sure the Timbers struck a deal with the tow company. There are no cameras.
They gave us extremely late notice that they were putting wood chips outside our complex, and in doing so, cut the locks on every bike left out. Then never returned the bikes.
Someone was stabbed outside my room.
They charged ridiculous amounts for cleaning, and will not let you argue if they were necessary, therefore they update their apartments from the pocketbooks of the previous tenants.
The Timbers will gouge you for everything, and they manage most of the complexes on that stretch of Nord ave, so they drive up the prices.
The train is incredibly loud, and Nord ave is also.
There was never enough parking for tenants, so they are forced to park in visitor parking hundreds of yards away, and often the 10-15 visitor parking spots were full, so we had to park somewhere on Nord at the risk of getting towed.
On a plus side, the receptionists were very nice and professional.
The Timbers are an awful company. Please reconsider.
